I have tested this Ohira awasedo stone with razors and, I feel it is best when used either as a fine knife stone, for tools like chisels or as a prep-bevel stone for razors. 
 
The top surface have been flattened, and the side edges of the top surface have been beveled, This come with an appropriately sized and tested tomonagura slurry stone. The missing corner in this stone is reflected in the retail price.
