This large tomae type stone is from the Air-Raid shelter hoard that we bought out in Kyoto. All of the stones from that hoard were hidden under the floor boards of the shelter. The owners father had shuffled them but the current family did not touch them until after their introduction to us.

#1216 bench stone is 208x75x30mm thick. A lifetime of material for an active shop, this is a very pre stone from front to back and side to side. It will sit perfectly in a stone holder, but is too heavy for hand-held honing. It will hone straight razors and katana bi-metal blades of many types of steel.

Inclued will be a host of tomonagura that are appropraite in size and hardness, designed from full thickness awasedo.
