This Shobudani kiita with a quilted back kawa skin is missing one corner and the stone is under cut at the same place as you can see in the photos. Except for that this is a perfect stone, As smooth as baby skin, full of grit and medium hard it will hone most kinds of razor steel, or will hone a knife to razor keen. Out of hundreds, this is one of the really good stones.
The sides and ends are sawn with a two man handsaw, typicle of the Meiji pre-modern era. The back has was flattened on a wheel but much of the detail of the quilting is still intatct. It will sit flat on a tabletop.
An ultra grade stone that will come with a generous and untra grade tomonagura.
