This light colored asagi will work equally well with a wide variety of steels. The size and shape suit those who need a professional-grade stone, and the thickness, although reduced at one corner, will serve an active shop for a good many years.

All 4 sides were cut with hand saws, leaving a toothed pattern, and the back was formed by chipping away with hatchets. All of the stones from the Hoard were fashioned in this way.
