Not quite yellow enough to be considered a kiita, this dull yellow toishi is then seen as an asagi. This color designation must be seen as independent of the quality and or utility of stone. Asagi are not as rare as kiita, and that is about the end of that.

I have tested this stone by honing a Henckels Friodur straight razor, and having shaved with that blade, I ended up with a professional type, ultra-close shave. This stone can also be used as a finishing stone for knives or fine tools.

I test and judge all of my stones' keenness by using the common hanging hair test, and the "hardness" factor of these natural stones is described by using the universally accepted and scientific Mohs hardness scale. I do not guess out of thin air the inherent hardness of the sharpening stones that I provide.

All of my stones are shipped with a tested tomonagura slurry stone that is paired with the base stone featured and described above.
