From the Narutaki mine, sawn up from choice stock this asagi stone is a razor grade stone, although it will probably go to a user of Japanese kanna or knife maker who works in a shop environment. Only they could justify using such a mammoth piece of Narutaki Awasedo. The tsurunoko two man bow-saw hand sawn sides and ends are also a testiment to the mass of the stone, as you can see the collaspe of the stone as the saw passed the half half-way thickness point after sawing into the middle from both the back and the front. Weighing 20grams short of two kilo and 220mm long, you may need a professional stone holder although the hand chiseled back rocks only just a tad on a flat table.

The green asagi complexion (the stone looks so much greener in person, especially when wet) forms a cloudy or foggy pattern similar to the Nakayama stones. Judging from the sides the stone will remain green and consistent from front to back. There are no open, toxic or water absorbing inclusions, the few lines you see are solid and tight and cannot be felt under the blade nor will they shed loose grit. The asagi will be shipped with a Huge tomonagura, appropriate for the size of the base stone.
