1013 Nakayama asagi

A large and generous size asagi, moderately hard and fine enough for straight razors or fine enough to make any knife or tool razor sharp. This stone can be used with just clear water, and it will polish a blade to a chrome finish, or if used with a slurry you can easily enhance a blade with different degrees of contrast between the various boutique steels used in knives, kanna blades, nomi/chisels
and or razors and softer irons used as core steel. I have made a video with blue steel laminated wrought iron deba knife to display these effects. I have also honed up several razors using this stone and from one to the other was left with ultra keen level HHT-5 results.

A rare stone in anyone's book, the shape is slightly off in width by 3mm at one end from the other, one corner is undercut, there is a solid but softer material inclusion on the topside that you can see in the photos, and a missing corner. A easy and elegant stone to use, guaranteed.

There are two areas of natural kawa skin and each includes ocher, umber and burnt umber minerals plus sparkling black minerals with crystals that you can see as individual crystals with your naked eye.

The stone (toishi) has been lapped flat and the sides and ends have been lapped too. The back has been flattened so it will sit flat on a table top.
All of my stones come with a tested and appropriately sized tomonaguara slurry stone, and a money back guarantee minus the return shipping.
