#891 buff color tennen toishi

I really do not know which mine this stone came from,  however I am sure it is from one of the Kyoto Honyama mines. As a stone for knives it slightly soft it will self slurry under the pressure of a blade but it excells as a water only knife stone that will both sharpen like a devil and polish like the sheen on a race horse. As a razor hone it will do almost anything including as a final finisher with a touch of slurry leading to water only. A grit rich stone it will easily hone up almost any type of steel. From front to back and side to side you can see how pure it is and it could be lapped to be a double side stone. The top is full of the finest goma-seaseme seed pattern you could ever imagine. Perfectly shaped it will fit into any stone holder.

This is not a kiita stone but instead an iromono from the Senmai strata, and is somewhat of a rare stone.

The stone (toishi) has been lapped flat and the corners and edges beveled unless otherwise noted. All of my stones come with a tested and appropriately sized tomonaguara slurry stone, and a money back guarantee minus the return shipping.
