Japanese kamisori razor size. I have physically tested and found that this stone is especially well paired with Henckels Friodur, Kikuhide 1050 steel, Wade & Butcher 19thC wrought iron, and also later W&B carbon steels, typical kamisori types, Iwaseki 90M carbon steel and Hart Steel, and Zowads Timahagane. A very universal stone oriented in size for kamisori but large enough for western straight razors. It will come with the tested tomonagura stone seen in the photo.

I encourage sealing the sides of all sedimentary stones, especially if there a inclusions, cracks, or fissures and or if the stone is used in an active workshop where the stone is constantly wet. For casual use, sealing, especially all four sides, and preferably the back with one of either a marine type of spar varnish, a synthetic lacquer, urushi, or a cashew-derived lacquer is prudent.
